As usual, April is a very busy month for the students of Cherokee ISD. Please make note of a few upcoming activities/events: Mon. 4/1 - District Golf (day 1) in San Saba; Solar Eclipse Family Night come and go from 5-6pm; Tues. 4/2- EARLY DISMISSAL at 12:00; JH District Track Meet and HS District Track Prelims in San Saba starting at 12:00; Wed. 4/3- HS District Track in San Saba; Thurs. 4/4- District Golf (day 2) in San Saba; Fri. 4/5- HS UIL Academic Meet in Rochelle; Sat. 4/6- FFA Area Meet at A&M Mon. 4/8- NO SCHOOL - Total Solar Eclipse Tues. 4/9- HS UIL Academic Speaking Events in Lometa Thurs. 4/11- Area Track Meet in Blanket; Fri. 4/12- NO SCHOOL (bad weather day if needed) The district has purchased solar eclipse glasses for all students and will be sent home on Thursday, 4/4. STAAR and EOC Testing dates will be sent out next week.

Hope everyone enjoyed Spring Break. Just a reminder that Cherokee ISD will start back on Tuesday, March 19th, and Friday, March 22nd is a regular school day. We are looking forward to seeing the students!!!

We are having our monthly PTC meeting today at 4:30pm in the school cafeteria. Staff, parents, students and community members are all invited to attend.

Tickets must be purchased online for tonight's Bi-District playoff game between our Mighty Indians and the Sidney Eagles. The game is in Brady and starts at 7:30pm. We are the visiting team. We're sending-off our Lady Indians at 3:15 today as they head to Hico to take on Blum for the Area Championship at 6:30 tonight! Line the highway outside of the school! Let's Go!!!!

Out of an abundance of caution, due to a suspicious individual in the area, Cherokee ISD performed a Controlled Release. Law enforcement has since given the all-clear. Thank you for your understanding in this matter.

Lady Indian's Area playoff basketball game will be Friday in Hico at 6:30pm vs Blum. We will be the Home team. Go Lady Indians!!!

The Cherokee Varsity Boys will play a seeding game against Brookesmith on Thursday, February 15, at Rochelle. The game will start at 6 pm. Be there and be loud. Go Indians!

The Cherokee Lady Indians Bi-District game vs the Evant Lady Elks is Monday, 2/12/24 at 7:30pm in San Saba. Gate fee: $4 for students and $6 for adults. We are the home team. Come out and support our Lady Indians !!!

Reminder: Mandatory Cheer parent meeting tonight at 5 in the cafeteria. Cheer candidates need an adult representative present to be eligible to to try out.

CISD will have school today starting at 10am. Students may be dropped off or arrive after 9:30am. Breakfast will not be served. Please dress warm!!

Tonight's JH game has been postponed. It will be rescheduled for a later date.

School is canceled for Monday 1/15/24. On Tuesday 1/16/24 we will have a delayed start of 10am. We will not serve breakfast on Tues. We will continue to monitor weather and road conditions and keep you posted if anything changes. Stay warm!!!

Cherokee ISD will have a delayed start on Monday, 1/15/24. School will start at 10:00am. Breakfast will not be served. No early morning athletic activities or practice. A late start will allow for time to monitor road conditions after sunrise, ensure water and heat are working properly at the school, and do our part in conserving energy from 6am-10am as requested by ERCOT. We will send another notification if we must cancel school for the day. Please stay safe and warm!!!
